Kauai’s favorite son is featured in a new documentary film from Teton Gravity Research focusing on the surfer’s blue collar rise to fame and success as well as his battle with bipolar disorder and opioid addiction. The film features in-depth interviews with Andy’s brother Bruce Irons, his wife Lyndie Irons, Kelly Slater, friends, family and competitors. On May 31st, 2018 Teton Gravity Research will be partnering with Fathom Events for a special one night theatrical event at 500 theaters nationwide, including Kauai. Starting in the middle of June, Teton Gravity Research will be touring the country screening the documentary with athletes, the filmmakers and mental health and opioid addiction crisis specialists.
