The Kauai Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that camping at Lydgate and Salt Pond Beach parks are now open for permit reservations as of May 9th, 2022, reports the County of Kauai.
Permit applications for these beach park locations are available at www.kauai.gov/parks.
The cost for permits at Salt Pond is $3 per person per night. Hawaii residents and children under 18 are exempt from camping permit fees.
The cost for permits at Lydgate for Hawaii residents is $5 per day for 10×10 foot and 20×20 foot campsites. The price for permits at Lydgate for non-residents is $25 per day for 10×10 foot and 20×20 foot campsites.
The online camping permit portal recently received a system upgrade and users should review their profiles to ensure their current information is accurate.
In addition, the County of Kauai is reminding that camping at Anini and Anahola Beach Parks continues to be available for patrons.
