Hawaii developer Jeff Stone has plans to develop an 80-unit hotel on the old Hanalei Plantation property overlooking Hanalei Bay, reports The Garden Island newspaper. The site, which sits on a ridge above the Hanalei River, has been the site of several failed resorts including a Club Med resort in the 1970s and a mid-1980s project that left the concrete foundations which remain to this day. Currently, the property is enjoyed by a small number of locals and tourists knowledgeable about the location. Below are photos of the property taken in early 2017.
