We sent our DJI Spark drone over our favorite surf town of Hanalei, Kauai in early April 2019 for some eye-opening photos and videos. The photos can be found below, the videos are coming soon.
Hanalei is paradise on Earth, tucked in a verdant valley framed by tropical mountains, a crescent bay, a meandering stream and a winding river. The town’s main thoroughfare is lined with quaint shops and eateries, a green plantation-style church, an open-air elementary school, playing fields, fruit stands and food trucks. On the mauka (mountain) side of Hanalei are a patchwork of taro fields. Makai (toward the sea) is a neighborhood of beach houses, surf shacks and multi-million dollar beach-front estates set against the blue-green waters of Hanalei Bay.

We didn’t realize there was a green space behind the shopping center until we looked at this photo.
