Kauai’s Hanapepe Art Night, sidelined for the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is officially reopening on Friday, July 8th, 2022, reports Hanapepe.org. Though a few vendors have already returned on Friday nights, July 8th marks the official reopening. Note the new time of 5-8PM (6-9PM before the pandemic).
Since 1997, tourists and local residents alike have been enjoying the eclectic mix of artists, live music, galleries, cafes, food trucks and more on Friday nights in the historic West Kauai town of Hanapepe.
Hanapepe is about a twenty minute drive from Poipu. If you’re staying in the Kapaa or Princeville area, plan your visit to Waimea Canyon on a Friday, and stop by Hanapepe Art Night on your way back.
With some of the most stringent COVID measures in the country, Kauai tourism was virtually shut down in 2020 into 2021, and is only now returning to some measure of normalcy. Indeed, the official reopening of Hanapepe Art Night is a welcome development.
