The quaint Inn Waimea offers plantation-style accommodations in the historic town of Waimea, Kauai. The affordable inn features four suites in the two-story building, which was once a parsonage. This isn’t your updated resort with all of the amenities, rather it’s a trip back into simpler times of old-time Hawaii and small town charm. The rooms are simply, yet adequately, furnished. Three of the suites have both a living room and a bedroom along with a bathroom. All rooms have the necessary amenities including cable TV, mini-fridges, and high-speed Internet. Some of the rooms have ocean views. And though there’s AC (window units) available in the rooms, we opened the windows during our stay to catch the ocean breezes as well.
Location is key for the Inn Waimea. The inn is located in the heart of Waimea Town and only one block from the black sands of Waimea Beach. The Waimea Pier is just around the corner. Across the street is Wrangler’s Steakhouse. The inn is within easy walking distance (5 minutes or less) to the main part of Waimea with access to eating establishments, grocery stores and tourist shops.
Few visitors to Kauai actually stay on the West Side of the island, despite the proximity to many of the island’s favorite destinations. Use the inn as a base for several days to see all that the West Side has to offer, including Waimea Canyon, Polihale Beach, the Kalalau Lookout and the many hiking trails in Kokee State Park.
Prices for the inn are reasonable (for Kauai). Additionally, the inn serves as a check in point for those staying at the Cabins at Kokee Park.
