Local fishermen of Kauai’s North Shore turn out at sunset to fish the waters at Haena Beach Park in these photos.

Haena Beach (and adjoining Tunnels Beach) is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world in our opinion, especially at sunset. This is the location of the famed Bali Hai, also known as Mount Makana. It is a sight to behold when the sun sets behind the lush tropical landscape.

Haena Beach is the last beach on Kauai’s North Shore that you can visit without a permit. There is free parking at the beach, but during the day it fills up quickly. However, in the early morning hours, and near sunset, there are usually available parking spaces.

There is a lifeguard station at Haena Beach that is manned during the day, along with restrooms, shower facilities and picnic tables. Overnight camping is available at Haena Beach with a permit.
