The old Hanalei Plantation property is one of our favorite spots on the island of Kauai. Located on a bluff overlooking Hanalei Bay on one side, and Puu Poa Beach and the St. Regis Princeville Resort property on the other, it is likely one of the most valuable pieces of property on the entire island (and for good reason). Currently the property is undeveloped and we hope it stays that way. The foundations from a failed development in the 1980s remain, giving the property a LOST-esque vibe. This hidden treasure is within easy walking distance of the St. Regis Princeville Resort and Hanalei Bay Resort. To get there, start at Puu Poa Beach in front of the St. Regis and walk along the beach and through the trees until you reach a trail that goes up to the bluff.
