In case you’ve been missing the far North Shore of Kauai past Hanalei, here are a few photos taken shortly before the flooding in mid-April 2018 that prompted authorities to close the area for everyone but local residents. There’s still a lot of work and repairs to be done before the area is open to the general public. The latest word is the area will reopen in October or November 2018 once repairs are finished to the roadway and three bridges, but nothing is certain as of this posting.
