The U.S. Postal Service unveiled a new stamp featuring Kauai’s Na Pali Coast at a dedication ceremony at the Hanalei Post Office on August 16th, 2018.
The new forever stamp is part of the Postal Service’s “O Beautiful” sheet of 20 Forever stamps. The stamp appears at the bottom left of the sheet, on the Sea to Shining Sea row.
The beautiful image on the stamp was shot by Hanapepe photographer Tim De La Vega who was in attendance at the dedication ceremony. Kauai mayor Bernard Carvalho and Hanalei postmaster Eileen Brieck were also at the dedication.
The Hanalei Post Office just recently reopened on July 30th, having been damaged by major flooding in April 2018.
Forever Stamps are non-denominational and are “forever” guaranteed to be used to mail First Class letters, even if the rate goes up in the future.
