Nandor, an avid hiker, mountain runner, photographer and the founder of Hungaro Explorer hiking tour company, is on a quest to reach Hawaii’s 100 Highest Peaks! In this video uploaded to YouTube, Nandor and five other people hike 23 miles round trip over 13 hours to reach Kauai’s highest point of Kawaikini and also the nearby rain gauge on Mt. Waialeale.
The group benefited from favorable weather on this day. This trail is often blanketed with rain and low visibility and the Koaie Stream is frequently swollen and dangerous to cross due to heavy rains in the area.
