Waipoo Falls is a magnificent 800-foot waterfall at Waimea Canyon on the island of Kauai that can be seen from several viewpoints along the canyon road. The Waimea Canyon Overlook, past mile marker 10 on 550, has the first view. The Pu’u Ka Pele Lookout, near mile marker 13, has the closest view and the best photo opportunities.
For a closer look, take the Canyon Trail to the top of the falls. Though you can’t see the waterfall from this vantage point (except the top), there is a phenomenal view of Waimea Canyon. Exercise caution at the top of the falls. In the summertime, the flow is sometimes reduced to a trickle. During winter months and after a rain shower the flow can be dangerous.

A short distance back from the main waterfall is another smaller waterfall with a pool.
The best views of Waipoo Falls can be seen on helicopter tours of the island. Tour helicopters can often be seen hovering near the falls.

Waipoo Falls can be seen from several lookouts along Waimea Canyon Drive.

A smaller waterfall and pond can be found above the main falls. When descending the last part of the Canyon Trail before the falls, take the left trail to the smaller waterfall (take the right trail to the top of the main falls).
